Join us in celebrating all of Glasgow’s Volunteers! During Volunteers Week 2019, we are hosting a special fun and well-being week to celebrate volunteering with those either volunteering or just thinking about it. For our drop-in times, there will be games to play and prizes to be won! Come in and see us, taste some of our delicious home baking, and chat to us about volunteering. We’ve also partnered with some of the charities we work with to bring you a whole host of well-being activities! Check out the dates, times and details below of the activities that we’ve planned. All the activities are FREE! (Note some of them are outside of drop in hours). PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT PLACES ARE LIMITED FOR THESE SESSIONS, SO PEOPLE NEED TO BOOK A SPACE. IF YOU ARE AN ORGANISATION LOOKING TO BRING A GROUP, SELECT THE NUMBER OF TICKETS FOR ATTENDEES. Please visit the event website to book tickets through Eventbrite! TUESDAY 4th June events – Drop in anytime 9:30am-4:30pm • 10am – 12pm: LOTION & POTIONS WORKSHOPS will be delivered by The Concrete Gardens. Learn how to make your own health and beauty products at home for a fraction of the cost. • 2pm – 4pm: HEALTH & WELL BEING with Urban Roots. Enjoy learning a new way to relax. • 3:30pm – 6pm: YOUNG VOLUNTEERS HAPPY HOUR – Relax, play games and win prizes. As an extra bonus R-CADE will be here with extra special games just for you. (no need to book) • 7pm – 9pm: YUNGDRUNG BON BUDDISHM talk with Khyimsar Lama Rinpoche. (it is free but there is a suggested donation of £10 to help cover expenses). WEDNESDAY 5th June events – Drop in anytime 9:30am-4:30pm • 10am – 12pm: 5 WAYS TO WELLBEING AND SELF CARE with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health). Learn how to look after your mental and emotional self and why it’s important that you do. • 2pm – 4pm: MEDITATION SESSIONS with Patricia Galavis. Learn how to make the very best of your day by starting and ending it with a short meditation. Good for the mind body and soul. THURSDAY 6th June events – Drop in anytime 9:30am-6pm • 10am – 12pm: {Activities for this slot are currently being arranged. Check back soon for further details} • 2pm – 4pm: De-Stress with Lavender DIY with the Hidden Gardens. Learn the beneficial properties of lavender and make your own little pillow to take home.
